Book launch announcement example

The book is finished.
Now the whole country needs to know.

How artist Kagiso Dlamini announced his first book and a launch tour in three cities — with one link instead of a "link in bio" that kept changing.

Colours of Home — the book is finished!

Premium package · 3 cities · tickets · livestream

Launches in Durban, Sandton and Cape Town, each with its own programme, venue and directions — plus when and where tickets go on sale, signed pre-orders and a livestream for fans who can't be there.

The story behind the example

Four years. 212 pages. Finally — done.

Kagiso Dlamini is a painter from Durban who works in Johannesburg and dreams in Cape Town. For four years he wrote the stories behind his paintings, one city at a time. In October, he wrote the last page.

Now he wants to launch it properly: in all three cities, with a reading, the original paintings on the walls and a signing. Tickets will sell through Computicket. And he has 40,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok who all want to know one thing — when, and where?

Three cities. Thousands of fans. Different questions.

One announcement has to work for everyone — whichever city they're in and however they found it.

Fans in Durban

“Is the Durban launch before or after Joburg? What time?”

Fans in Johannesburg

“Sandton — where exactly? Can I take the Gautrain?”

Fans in Cape Town

“Only 80 seats? When do tickets drop so I don't miss out?”

Ticket hunters

“Which outlet? Online or in-store? How much?”

Art collectors

“Will the original paintings be on show?”

Bookshops & press

“Dates, venues and a cover image — all in one place.”

Fans overseas

“Can I watch? Can I get a signed copy?”

Family & old friends

“We just want to be there for him. Where do we go?”

Two ways to launch a book

Same artist, same book, same three cities. The difference is where the information lives.

The old way

Posts, flyers and "link in bio"

  1. The flyer: one image with three cities, three dates and three venues in small print — screenshotted, cropped and shared without the bottom half.
  2. "Link in bio": changes three times as each city's tickets open. Old posts now point to the wrong place.
  3. DMs: hundreds of "when do tickets drop?" and "is there a Durban date?" — every day for two months.
  4. Ticket day: half the Cape Town fans miss the release because the announcement was buried under other posts.
  5. A change: the Sandton launch moves to 15:00. The flyer still says 14:00 — and it's everywhere.
  6. Overseas fans: ask about a livestream in the comments; the answer gets lost.
  7. Kagiso: spends launch month as his own call centre instead of preparing the readings.

With 43xEvents

One page for the whole tour

  1. One page: the book, the story and all three launches — Durban, Sandton, Cape Town — each with its own time, venue, programme and directions.
  2. One link everywhere: in the bio, on the flyer as a QR code, in every post. It never changes.
  3. Ticket info, once: where to buy, the price, what's included and the exact date and time tickets go on sale.
  4. Ticket day: fans follow the page and see the "tickets on sale" update the moment it's posted.
  5. A change: Kagiso updates the Sandton time once. Everyone sees 15:00.
  6. Overseas fans: tap "Watch live" on the Cape Town launch, or pre-order a signed copy.
  7. Kagiso: gets back to painting — the page answers the questions.

What every fan receives

One link — in the bio, a post, a WhatsApp forward or a QR code on the poster. Tap it, and the whole tour is there.

  • All three launches, with dates, times and programme
  • Where to buy tickets, the price and when sales open
  • Venues, parking and directions in each city
  • "Watch live" for the Cape Town launch
  • The cover reveal, updates and signed pre-orders

About "Watch live"

In a real announcement, the Watch live button opens the livestream — YouTube, Instagram Live, Zoom or any other link — with the start time and instructions underneath. In this example there's no real launch, so it brings you here.
