Legal
Terms & Conditions
These terms apply when you use 43xEvents — to create and publish an announcement, or to view and follow one. Please read them carefully; by using the site you agree to them.
Last updated 27 October 2026
1. Who we are
43xEvents (“we”, “us”) is operated by Linkpot (Pty) Ltd, a private company, registration number [CIPC registration number]. Our details, as required by section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), are listed in section 15.
2. What 43xEvents does
43xEvents lets you publish an announcement page for a life event — such as a funeral or memorial, wedding, birthday or graduation — with its programme of events, updates and photos, and share it by link or QR code. People with the link can view the page and, if they create an account, follow it to receive updates.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and publish announcements.
- Give accurate details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us straight away at hello@43xevents.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Your announcements and content
You keep ownership of everything you add (text, photos, programme details). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it as needed to run the service, for as long as it's on 43xEvents.
When you publish, you confirm that:
- the information is true and you are entitled to share it — for example, as family of the person being remembered, or as one of the people getting married;
- you have the right to use every photo, and the consent of identifiable people where the law requires it;
- you have handled other people's personal information (names, phone numbers, addresses) lawfully, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
5. What's not allowed
Don't publish anything that is false or misleading, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, infringes someone else's rights, or is otherwise unlawful. Don't use 43xEvents for scams, fundraising fraud, spam, or to collect people's information without their permission, and don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the site.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or where we receive a valid legal request. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why. To report a page, contact us with its link.
6. Packages, prices and payment
- Publishing requires a package. Prices are shown in South African rand (ZAR), including VAT where applicable, before you pay.
- Each package includes what is listed on the package page (for example, a number of Event Items, gallery photos and how long the page stays live).
- Payments are processed by PayFast (a payment gateway regulated in South Africa). Your card or bank details go directly to PayFast — we never see or store them. PayFast's own terms apply to the payment itself.
- Your page can be published once payment is confirmed. We may also confirm orders manually, or provide complimentary packages at our discretion.
- We may change package prices for future purchases; this never changes the price of an order you've already paid.
7. Cancellations and refunds
See our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. How long your page stays live
Your announcement stays published for the period of your package. You can edit it, unpublish it or delete it at any time from your dashboard. After the period ends we may take the page offline; we'll try to remind you beforehand.
9. Viewing and following announcements
Anyone with the link can view a public announcement. Following one requires an account and means you agree to receive updates about that announcement; you can unfollow at any time. The person who published an announcement is responsible for its content — not 43xEvents.
10. Availability
We work to keep 43xEvents running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, for example during maintenance or because of problems with networks or providers outside our control.
11. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other law that can't be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for content published by other users, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the package concerned.
12. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our Cookie Policy explains the cookies we use.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here with its date, and tell account holders about important changes. Using 43xEvents after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most problems can be sorted out quickly. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission or another appropriate forum.
