When someone dies, everyone
needs the same answers.

The story of Christina Adams — and how one page spared her family a week of phone calls.

Christina Adams Funeral / Memorial

In Loving Memory of Christina Adams

Premium package · 5 services · livestream · gallery

A 48-year-old mother of two from Clifton, Cape Town. Prayers, a memorial service, the funeral, the burial and a celebration of life — with directions, a livestream and how to support the family, all on one page.

The story behind the example

Sunday, 1 November. Christina has passed away.

Christina Adams was 48. She grew up in Clifton on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, worked in marketing for over twenty years and swam at Fourth Beach every Sunday. She leaves her husband, Daniel, and their children, Liam and Ava.

Within an hour, the news is everywhere. A cousin posts on Facebook. Her sister-in-law sends a voice note to the family WhatsApp group. Old school friends share a photo with "RIP 💔". By evening, hundreds of people know — and almost none of them know what to do next.

Everyone hears the news. Everyone needs something different.

They all care. They all have questions. And they all end up asking the same tired family.

Her current colleagues

“When is the memorial? Can we come as a team?”

Former colleagues

“They hear a week late, from a forwarded post.”

Old school friends

“Where is the funeral — and is it open to everyone?”

New friends & neighbours

“They don't know the family well enough to call.”

People who want to help

“How can we contribute? Who do we send it to?”

The memorial-only crowd

“Just the memorial time and venue, please.”

Those going to the funeral

“What time? Where do we park? Is the burial private?”

Family & friends abroad

“Is there a livestream? What time is that for us?”

Two ways the week can go

Same family, same news, same people. The only difference is where the information lives.

The old way

Messages, forwards and phone calls

  1. Facebook: "RIP Christina 💔" — 200 comments asking "when is the funeral?" Nobody in the thread knows.
  2. WhatsApp: a screenshot of a flyer gets forwarded group to group. Some copies still show last week's draft times.
  3. The phone: Daniel takes over 60 calls a day — the same five questions, while planning a funeral and comforting two children.
  4. A change: the memorial moves to Thursday. He tells a few groups; half the people never see it and arrive on the wrong day.
  5. Abroad: Christina's cousin in London only hears about the livestream after the service has ended.
  6. Helping: people who want to contribute don't know how — some send money to whoever posted the news.
  7. Afterwards: former colleagues find out a week later and feel they missed the chance to say goodbye.

With 43xEvents

One page, one link, one QR code

  1. 10 minutes: Daniel creates the announcement — the prayers, memorial, funeral, burial and celebration, each with its own time and venue.
  2. One link: he posts it on Facebook and the family WhatsApp group. Every forward now points to the same page.
  3. Answers, not calls: times, venues, a map, directions, parking and who to contact are all on the page.
  4. A change: he updates the memorial once. Everyone who opens the link — or follows the page — sees the new day.
  5. Abroad: the cousin in London taps "Watch live" on the funeral and joins from her phone.
  6. Helping: the family's own contribution details are on the page, so support reaches them directly.
  7. Afterwards: colleagues print the QR code for the office notice board. Daniel's phone is quiet enough for him to grieve.

About "Watch live"

In a real announcement, the Watch live button opens the family's livestream — YouTube, Facebook Live, Zoom or any other link — with their own instructions underneath. In this example there's no real service, so it brings you here.

When it matters most, give everyone one place to look.

Create your announcement in minutes. Share one link. Update it whenever plans change.
